Singapore, 8 March: The educational arm of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the ICC Academy, has launched a new stackable format of learning for its flagship trade finance and international business certifications.
Under the new initiative, professionals can purchase and stack core and elective courses from the Academy’s introductory-level Global Trade Certificate (GTC), advanced-level Certified Trade Finance Professional (CTFP), as well as Export/Import Certificate (EIC) programmes. Each course can be purchased and taken in any order, giving professionals the flexibility to choose a learning pathway that advances at their desired pace and payment schedule. The courses can eventually be stacked up towards taking the final examination and earning the professional certification for each programme.
Commenting on the new learning format, ICC Academy’s Production Director Dr. Henry Khiat said, “Since the pandemic, the educational needs of professionals have evolved. We are noticing a significant shift in our customer’s learning needs, habits, and preferences. One such preference is the learn-as-you-earn programme that can provide learners with crucial advancement opportunities at the desired pace, as they make their way up the career ladder.”
Keeping in mind our audience’s learning preference, we will now be offering the flexible stackable learning option for industry professionals. Candidates can start with targeted training by opting for stand-alone courses that first meet their immediate skill set requirements, and eventually stacking up courses to attain the professional certification. Now more than ever, trade professionals need flexible, affordable ways to obtain advanced credentials that improve their career prospects. We hope this new pathway to attain an ICC-certified qualification will encourage professionals to reskill and upskill their working knowledge” added Dr. Khiat.
The stackable course options will be available for the Academy’s flagship certifications only. For candidates, it is important to note that although the option to stack courses offers learners the opportunity to spread out the cost of ICC Academy certifications, the overall cost will be higher than purchasing the full certifications upfront.

Stackable Global Trade Certificate (GTC) Courses
- Candidates can purchase 9 GTC courses separately at USD $150 each.
- They can then stack up 6 core and 3 elective courses of their choice.
- On completion of the required core and elective courses, candidates can apply to the ICC Academy for verifying the examination criteria.
- Once verification is complete, they can pay the examination fee (USD $100) and take the final examination.
- Upon passing the examination, candidates will receive the ICC’s internationally accredited professional qualification, the Global Trade Certificate.
The total cost is USD $1450 vs USD $1099 if purchasing the full certification.

Stackable Certified Trade Finance Professional (CTFP) Courses
- Candidates can purchase 9 CTFP courses separately at USD $200 each.
- They can then stack up 5 core and 4 elective courses of their choice.
- On completion of the required core and elective courses, candidates can apply to the ICC Academy for verifying the examination criteria.
- Once verification is complete, they can pay the examination fee (USD $100) and take the final examination.
- Upon passing the exam, candidates will receive the ICC’s internationally accredited professional qualification, the Certified Trade Finance Professional
The total cost is USD $1900 vs USD $1499 if purchasing the full certification.

Stackable Export/Import Certificate (EIC) Courses
- Candidates can purchase 5 core courses separately at USD $150 each.
- They can then stack up 5 cores as they go.
- On completion of the required core courses, candidates can apply to the ICC Academy for verifying the examination criteria.
- Once verification is complete, they can pay the examination fee (USD $60) and take the final examination.
- Upon passing the exam, candidates will receive the ICC’s internationally accredited professional qualification, the Export/Import Certificate
The total cost is USD $699 vs USD $810 if purchasing the full certification.

International recognition
The GTC, CTFP and EIC certificates are accredited by The Bankers Association for Finance and Trade (BAFT), The London Institute of Banking & Finance (LIBF), The Institute of Banking and Finance (IBF) and Global Trade Professional Alliance (GTPA).
What is more, the ICC Academy’s training programmes are ISO/IEC 17024 certified, meaning anyone who enrols in our certificates can attain the relevant competency standards for ISO/IEC 17024 certification – the only international standard for the certification of professional competence in the global trade discipline.
