Singapore, 11 December: The ICC Academy is bringing back its highly-anticipated Supply Chain Finance Summit to Singapore for its 8th edition. The event, which runs from 27-28 February 2019, aims to spotlight recent market shifts and their ripple effect on the supply chain landscape.
Marked by its year-on-year success, the event returns to Singapore in 2019, ICC’s 100th anniversary year, highlighting the island city-state’s standing as a pivotal trade and financial hub that continues to shape the development of Asia’s supply chain.
Commenting on the upcoming event, ICC Academy General Manager Daniel Kok said: “As the SCF industry rapidly develops and evolves, today’s professionals’ need a clear overview of the market as it currently exists and what is slated for its future. Through dynamic panel discussions, compelling case studies and informative presentations, our roster of speakers will reflect on the progress of the industry so far and provide unique insights into the trends, opportunities and challenges that are affecting the modern SCF environment.”
Blending a more global perspective with regional highlights, the 2019 agenda will focus on some of the most in-demand subjects in the supply chain process. Participants can expect to hear on topics such as the consequences of trade wars on SCF, the Belt and Road Initiative in 2019, the corporate treasury aspect of SCF and the digitalisation of trade to name a few.
Speaking on the Summit’s activities, Trade Advisory Network’s Managing Director, John Bugeja said: “The 8th SCF Summit promises to maintain the exceptionally high standards achieved at previous summits. The Academy is involving speakers of unrivalled expertise. The quality of debate will be second to none and participants should be invariably prepared to share real insights that actively promote the development of this fast-developing portfolio of finance techniques.”
“The ICC Academy, being the educational arm of the hugely influential International Chamber of Commerce, is perfectly placed to deliver this first-class event and I am looking forward immensely to taking part,” said Mr Bujega.
Over 250 international participants from across the industry — including trade finance experts, chief financial officers, corporate credit and risk managers, corporate treasurers, import managers, trade specialists, bankers, insurers, consultants and vendors — are expected to attend. With such a diverse group of individuals present, the event will also serve as a valuable platform for informal dialogue among the fellow participants and experts to share ideas and exchange experiences.
An additional feature is directed at our credit holders. Those looking to attend will be credited with 10 PDC’s towards any ICC Academy certification or 10 PDU’s towards CDCS and CSDG re-certifications.
