Singapore, 16 July: The educational arm of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the ICC Academy, has unveiled an enhanced version of its globally-recognised trade finance certification, the Global Trade Certificate (GTC). The changes ensure the programme keeps pace with the rapidly evolving trade finance industry.
Looking back on the development of the programme, ICC Academy General Manager Daniel Kok said: “In a rapidly changing business environment, we strive to keep our curriculum as up-to-date and relevant as possible to ensure the best possible training for the next generation of trade professionals.”
Originally launched in 2015, the GTC now includes participants from more than 100 countries across the globe. Its curriculum helps front and middle office professionals build a solid understanding of the nuts and bolts of global trade finance.
Commenting on the programme, Olivier Paul, ICC Banking Commission’s Head of Policy said: “Trade finance is an evolving business. The actors of this market need to have regular updates of the latest techniques, best practices and regulatory changes that occur. The ICC Academy is here to provide these upgrades by adapting its different certificates to the evolution of the market. The ICC Academy is very well placed to fulfill this ambition, by leveraging its extensive network of national committees and experts throughout the world”
