The Incoterms® 2020 rules are the ICC’s official interpretations of the eleven most commonly-used trade terms in both international and domestic transactions. While the wording explains the contractual obligations, risks and costs involved, there is much more that sellers and buyers, their transport professionals, their insurers and their bankers need to know about the rules.

The practical applications of the rules in any number of circumstances are not usually discussed by trainers. For example, up till now no-one has really looked at the application of each rule for the different modes of transport, the documents involved and their compatibility with letters of credit.

However, our trainer, Bob Ronai, one of only three non-lawyers on the Incoterms® 2020 Drafting Group, will explain these practical aspects to you in detail during this two-day live online training on 27-28 May.

What the training will cover:
Over the course of two days we will cover all eleven Incoterms® 2020 rules in separate lessons. For the first part of each lesson we will look at what the rule says contractually, (using the Incoterms® 2020 book) before breaking down how those obligations are put into practice, including their compatibility with letters of credit. We will finish each lesson with a live Q&A session.

Each day’s training will last for three hours including Q&A. Please see the Agenda tab above for more detail on the structure of each day’s training.

Expert trainer:
Bob Ronai was the first Australian on the Incoterms® 2020 Drafting Group, manages the LinkedIn Incoterms group with over twenty thousand members and was a member of the committee which wrote the “ICC Guide on Transport and the Incoterms® 2010 Rules”. He has just finished extensively updating this book for the 2020 rules.
